If you wish to redact an area such as a laptop screen, which moves in and out of frame this guide will take you through your options to manually redact.
On versions of Identity Cloak 6.0.0 onwards you will find that our manual redaction options have moved, previously you had the option to manually redact either with a rectangle or a circle on the tracking screen. You will now find the option to manually redact on the adjustment screen as well as on the tracking screen, these options are:
- Manual adjustment - allows you to add in or remove redaction frame-by-frame
- Dynamic adjustment - allows you to add in or remove redaction in the same area whilst automatically playing the video
- Permanent masking - add in a set area of redaction for the entirety of the video
- Manual tracking - will allow you to create tracks to redact an object that moves
Creating manual tracks on version 6.0.3:
- Turn the tracking toggle to 'Manual'
- Select the tracking mode you wish to use "Head" or "Body" - this will determine the shape that your manual track will be created in "Head" equals circle "Body" equals rectangle
- Move your mouse to the area of the screen you wish to track
- Click your mouse and this will start the tracking for you.
- If you wish to change the size of the circle click and hold ctrl on your keyboard then drag the mouse.
- For a rectangle draw the area using the + cursor on your screen
- Go to the next frame and click the area you wish to track again, if the object is in the same area for selecting the video it appears you can drag the dot on the timeline along to the last point you wish to track then click in the middle of that area
- If you make a mistake and click the wrong area of your video, you can use the "Undo" button to go back to the previous tracking point
- Once you have finished tracking your object, click "Save" at the bottom of your tracklist
- If you wish for this track to be redacted tick the blur checkbox on your tracklist, if you wish for this area to remain clear make sure this checkbox is unticked
Creating manual tracks on version 6.0.2:
Please note when using manual tracking if you are in the standard or full-screen mode the manual track area will be kept in the clear. When you are in the inverse mode this area will be redacted.
- Turn the tracking toggle to 'Manual'
