In version 6.0 onwards, the auto-tracking will work on heads and bodies, this article will take you through how to use the tracking on heads.
After you have imported and trimmed your video, you will get a pop-up stating "Please Wait...". When this is showing Identity Cloak is processing everyone within your clip and tracking them. Depending on the length of your video and how many people are in it you may find that it takes longer than other videos. Once the pop-up has disappeared, you will be able to select your target(s) to track. This change saves you on average between 25-58% on time when it comes to completing your redaction.
To use the auto-tracking on your target's head:
- Select the detection type on the right-hand side of the screen
- Go to when the target first appears within your clip (you can do this by dragging the dot on the timeline or by pressing "N" on your keyboard)
- Select the blue circle over your target's head (the video will then jump to the end of that track, please note if they disappear from the frame, you will need to repeat these steps when they re-appear)
- Click "Next" in the bottom right-hand corner
- Watch your clip to ensure that the tracking has worked as expected on the adjustment screen. If your person crosses with another, the tracking switches follow these steps:
- Click "Previous" on the bottom right-hand corner

- Scroll your timeline to the point of the people crossing (you can also hold down the "B" key on your keyboard
- Then click "SPLIT" on your track within the tracklist
- Move to the next frame by pressing "N" until you have two circles over both heads

- This will jump to the end of the secondary track for your target, you will also have multiple tracks listed in your tracklist
- Click "Next"
- Review your video again within the adjustment screen
- Make any other adjustments you wish, i.e. turning on the licence plate detection or switching between modes
