Document Redaction allows you to exclude a page or document. This is particularly useful when you have uploaded documents that don't need to be included for the DSAR you are dealing with.
When completing a DSAR you may find that you have hundreds, if not thousands, of documents to go through. In these situations it is easy to upload some documents that are not needed for the request you are dealing with. In this instance Document Redaction will allow you to exclude a select page from a document or a document as a whole. For instance, it could be a page from a document that is just an image.
To exclude a page:
- Select the relevant document from your document list
- In the document view panel go to the relevant page of the document
- Click the "Exclude current page" button at the top lefthand side of the action buttons
- This will now exclude that page, on the lefthand slide towards the bottom of the window you will see a comments box. This will allow you to include notes to why you have excluded a page.
To exclude a document:
- Select the relevant document from your document list
- In the document view panel go to the relevant page of the document
- Click the "Exclude Selected Document" button at the top lefthand side of the action buttons
- This will now exclude that document, on the lefthand slide towards the bottom of the window you will see a comments box. This will allow you to include notes to why you have excluded a page.
The comments box will allow you to go back and see your reasons for excluding a page or document, which is useful for auditing purposes or if someone asks why you have not included something.
