Our automatic redaction only works on faces, full bodies and licence plates. Thus, if you wish to redact an area such as a mobile phone you will need to do this manually. This article will take you through how to manually redact.
Our automatic redaction only works on faces, full bodies and licence plates. Thus, if you wish to redact an area such as a tablet, notepad or sign you will need to do this manually. You are able to use the manual redaction feature within all three modes of Identity Cloak. Please note that if you are in full-screen blur mode, the area you are selecting will be unredacted instead of redacted. To be able to use the manual redaction feature, you will need to be on the redaction screen.
Static object
- Click 'Clear' above your tracklist.
- At the top of the right-hand panel select the shape you wish to use (rectangle or circle).
- Click 'New' above your tracklist.
- Draw your shape around the object when it firsts appears within your clip.
- On your timeline scroll to the last point your object appears.
- Click within the centre of your shape to get a secondary dot.
- Click 'Save' under your tracklist.
- If you are in the automatic redaction mode you will need to tick the Blur check box within your tracklist to blur this area.
- Once you have tracked all your objects and people click 'Next' to move on to the adjustment screen.
If you need to track multiple objects you will need to repeat these steps until each person has their own track. You can only select one person to track at a time.
Moving object
- Click 'Clear' above your tracklist.
- At the top of the right-hand panel select the shape you wish to use (rectangle or circle).
- Click 'New' above your tracklist.
- Draw your shape around the area you wish to redact/ unredact (depending on which mode you are in) at the point of its first appearance.
- Using your hotkey N (on your keyboard) scroll to where the object moves outside of the area you have selected.
- Draw a new shape around the area that your object is now in, this will make an additional dot on the screen with a line connecting them together. Alternatively, if the size of your shape stays the same you can just click the screen where you want the centre of the shape to be.
- Repeat steps 5 and 6 until your object is no longer in the clip.
- Click 'Save' under your tracklist.
- If you are in the automatic redaction mode you will need to tick the Blur check box within your tracklist to blur this area.
- Once you have tracked all your objects and people click 'Next' to move on to the adjustment screen.
