This is a step by step guide on how to redact audio from your video file using Identity Cloak
New Audio Redaction feature is available from version 6.2.0 onwards. This feature will allow you to redact sections of audio from your video footage using identity cloak. Follow these simple steps below to learn how:
1. The home screen will show the option to Import Video. Identity cloak will now automatically detect audio for all uploaded videos.
2. Once imported, if the video clip includes sound, you will see a sound wave in the sound bar under the timeline. If the video clip does not include audio, the sound wave will show a straight white line.

3. Once you've identified the audio segment you wish to redact, hover your mouse over the sound wave on the required position. You will see a sign. Now start drawing a segment for the required duration.
4. If you have to redact a very small portion of the video clip, you can also zoom into the timeline by moving the magnify slider. This enables you to precisely mark the segment for redaction. When the timeline is zoomed in, you can use the bottom scroll to move along the timeline.
5. After drawing a segment, right-click and select Mute Audio. The selected segment will turn red. If you mistakenly redact a segment, remove the redaction by selecting it, right-clicking, and choosing Clear.
6. You can also increase or decrease the segment length by using the expander .
7. To move the segment along the timeline, simply hover over the segment and when you see the cursor change into a symbol, left click and move the segment along the timeline.
If you do not wish to work with audio or you would like to mute the audio for the entire duration of the clip, simply press the speaker icon to disable audio.
Top Tip: After you have redacted the audio, make sure to review your clip as this version will only allow you to do so in the Import screen.
