How does the auto-blur mode work on Identity Cloak with and without using the auto-tracking feature.
Auto-blur is Identity Cloak’s default mode. It will blur everyone unless you have selected anyone not to be included, this is done through the auto-tracking.
Blurring everyone:
If you want to blur everyone's faces after selecting the section of the video, you which want to redact from the redaction screen, you follow these steps:- In the review screen (the one with the panel on the right-hand side) click ‘Next’ on the bottom of the screen
- The panel on the right-hand side will now allow you to adapt the degree of blur using the bottom slider
- Once you are happy with the degree of blur click ‘Export’
Auto-blurring with auto-tracking:
When you use the auto-tracking in this mode, the person(s) you select will not be blurred. To use this feature, you need to be on the redaction screen. The person who is going to be selected to be tracked will be referred.
- Identified your target
- On the right-hand side panel click ‘Auto-Tracking’
- Then click ‘New’ again on the right-hand side
- Go to the main section of the screen where the video is
- Click once on your target, this starts the auto-tracking, and let your clip play the full way through
- On the right-hand side panel click ‘Save’
- Click ‘Next’, this will allow you to change the degree of blur on everyone else
- Click ‘Export’ once you have completed all your required redaction to save within your secure environment
Please note that the tracking area is determined by the person’s head/ face, on occasions if someone does a jig and their face isn't visible the AI can lose them, all you need to do if this happens is to click on the person again. The tracking will automatically associate the earlier tracking and the current one to link them together.
Top tips:
You can track more than one person by going through the same process and starting a ‘New Track’ before clicking ‘Export’. When you click ‘Export’ the clips will be merged to allow you to see multiple people in the clear instead of being blurred.
