Release notes September 2025

Here are the release notes for Facit’s Identity Cloak 6.3.1 This release includes enhancements to our manual tracking, video trim and redaction features.

What's changed:

  • Enhanced Trim Feature-Before, you could only remove sections from within a video. Now, with trimming, you can also shorten the video by adjusting the start and end points
  • Enhanced Manual Tracking: You can now track a full body as well as a head when manually creating tracks for person(s) of interest.
  • Upgraded Mask Settings: Introducing custom square and elliptical tools to allow variations in masking the person(s) of interest.

  • Optimised Permanent Mask: You can now keep your focus areas hidden while keeping moving subjects in front of them in the clear. 

Enhanced Trim

To speed up processing and export, you can shorten a video by adjusting its start or end point. Simply drag the yellow trimming bars on either side of the timeline to set the new length. 

As introduced in our previous version 6.2.0, you can still cut unwanted section(s) of the video, . 

Manual Tracking

When creating manual tracks, you now have the option to select Head and Full body for Person(s) of interest. This will allow you to various redaction types for multiple person(s) of interest in a video.

                                                     

Mask Settings

You can now use an elliptical or square shape to manually mask the person of interest in a video. This feature is available on the side panel in the Adjust screen. From the Mask Settings, choose  Ellipse or square shape and adjust the shape mask for the person of interest.. You can Blur, clear or reset the mask.

Additionally, you can use an elliptical and square tool simultaneously to mask persons of interest. 

Optimised Permanent Mask:

With the Custom Shape Blur tool, you can block out any area of the video with a permanent mask. Now, you can also move this mask behind people, so if someone walks in front of it, they won’t be hidden.
